The Embossing Mats for the Big Shot is sold separately. Use the Big Shot Embossing Mats to add more embossed texture to your crafting. Depending on the die, you can cut and emboss or you can use dies instead of embossing folders.
The Embossing Mats are designed for using with Thinlits, Framelits and Edgelits, so that, instead of die-cutting, your thin metal dies will create an embossed impression. This brings new life and dual purpose to your dies!
TIPS:
- When you emboss using the Embossing Mats, the cutting edge of the die faces up. This is different from die-cutting where the cutting edge of the die faces down.
- The thickness of the silicone mat does not determine the depth of the embossing. Use correct mat for each type of embossing (see below).
- If you have the old-style Big Shot Platform (with the layers attached on a hinge), use no tabs in place of the Big Shot Platform when creating your sandwich.
EMBOSS ONLY: You can emboss using most Thinlits, Framlits, and Edgelits dies. The more detailed the design, the better the results. Here’s how you make your emboss-only sandwich with the Embossing Mats…
- Big Shot Platform (comes with your Big Shot machine)
- Standard Cutting Pad (comes with your Big Shot machine)
- Thinlit, Framelit or Edgelit, blade up
- Cardstock or paper to be embossed
- Thin BLUE silicone rubber Embossing Mat
- WHITE Impressions Pad (comes with the Embossing Mats)
CUT & EMBOSS: Some dies have decorative ejection holes, which leave an embossed design after the die has been run through the Big Shot using the cut and emboss sandwich. Firstly, die-cut your image using the Big Shot and leave the cardstock or paper in the die. Then run the die through the Big Shot with the Embossing Mats...
- Big Shot Platform (comes with your Big Shot machine)
- Standard Cutting Pad (comes with your Big Shot machine)
- Thinlit, Framelit or Edgelit with the die-cut image still inside, blade up
