This gorgeous Spiral Flower rose heart wreath was showcased at a recent Stampin' Up! event in the US - perfect for Valentine's Day...
Card/Paper: Cherry Cobbler (121681). Accessories: Naturals 7/8" Trim (129287). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439), Magnetic Platform (130658), Spiral Flower Originals Die (129379), Hearts Collection Framelits (125599), Stampin' Spritzer (126185), Anywhere Glue Stick (104045), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Glue Dots (103683).
The twelve roses on this wreath were easily created using the Spiral Flower die, as you can die-cut several at a time (I did four!). Then all you need to do is roll the flower, starting from the small end. I recommend you use tweezers or a quilling tool for this. Once you have rolled it all, use either Tombow or a hot glue gun to secure the last scallop on the underside.
Spiral Flower Originals Die (129379) - $35.95
The die-cut spiral flower can be rolled uniform like the one pictured with the die. Or you can distress it before rolling to get a more vintage look. For the roses on my heart wreath I spritz'ed the die-cut card with a small amount of water, crushed it in my hand, flattened it out again, then rolled it. Not only did this give me the look I was wanting, it also made rolling the roses really easy as the fibres in the card stock were broken.
Betty Saccocia has a good step-by-step photo tutorial on how to make one of these wreaths. The only thing I did differently was to use the Anywhere Glue Stick to adhere two sheets of Cherry Cobbler card stock together before die-cutting the heart to use as my base.
