When you stamp using the "transferred embossing" technique that was demonstrated at the November workshops, you will get a mirror image of your stamped image. That is fine for most stamps...
- Click HERE to see the step-by-step instructions on how we stamped Mini Muslin Bags using the Christmas Star stamp.
But with this technique word stamps will not work. However, there is a way... first you need to create a mirror or reflected image of your word stamp. To do this, ink your word stamp using VersaMark and stamp it onto a clear block or Window Sheet (acetate).
Then transfer this image onto a piece of wax or baking paper.
Add your embossing powder and heat set (I used Pewter Stampin' Embossing Powder for this project).
Place the embossed image onto your fabric (with the embossed side down) and iron it to transfer the words from the paper onto the fabric.
Tips:
- Make sure that the clear block or Window Sheet (acetate) you stamp onto is very clean.
- Use bold word stamps for the best result. Fine images don't work so well.
- Ensure that your VersaMark stamp pad is well-inked and juicy. Re-ink it before stamping, if necessary.
- Place a Stampin' Pierce Mat under your project when stamping the second time to get a good transfer of ink.
This is a great technique to use on the Mini Muslin Bags...
