I love paper crafting, but I also dabble in cake decorating. I am an amateur that has learnt to decorate cakes and cupcakes though necessity (three children's birthday parties each year!). When I saw the Simply Pressed Clay Molds, I knew they would be great to use with icing too. So I created some pretty flower embellishments to top my frosted cupcakes...

It's easy to do. If you have been using the moulds with the Simply Pressed Clay, then wash in warm water and completely dry. Dust silicone moulds with icing sugar and press fondant icing or gumpaste into the mould. Release your creation from the mould and leave to dry for 12-24 hours. As a variation, you can add a silver cachous or other edible decoration to the mould before pressing in your icing.

There are other tools in our Stampin' Up! arsenal that are fun to play with in cake decorating. Try rolling out fondant icing, cut your desired shape (with a knife or cookie-cutter) and the press a (clean) Textured Impressions Embossing Folder into the surface. I did this for my daughter's 10th birthday cake...
