At the Auckland Heartfelt Stampin' Event in mid-September we each got a free stamp set - Clockworks (page 105, Annual Catalogue). I love the versatility of the stamps in this stamp set - great individually or used together as a collage. It is also great for Steampunk, a retro-futuristic trend that is gaining popularity. All the make-and-takes at the Heartfelt Stampin' Event were made using the Clockworks stamp set. I CASEd one of the make-and-take projects to create this masculine 40th birthday card...

I have clustered the stamped images in the Clockworks stamp set to create a colourful collage, and used the Color Spritzer Tool to "splatter" the card stock to add to the overall effect.

The card base is scored both horizontally and vertically in a grid pattern using the Simply Scored. The flags are also scored and added to the card using glue dots so that they stand up and "wave" across the card. And then there is the "40"...

... which is Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock glued onto chipboard and the numbers "4" and "0" die-cut. I then roughly sanded the card stock texture to reveal the lighter core. I also ran the sanding block over a punched Scallop Circle. You can see more Core'dinations card stock and the Stampin' Sanding System on page 6 of the Holiday Catalogue.

I love all the textures and dimension in this card!

At the end of September we had quite a few birthdays. So over the next few posts I will share with you some more of the cards and gifts.
