It uses the Very Vintage Jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel and the Faux-Mother of Pearl technique.
To achieve this finish, I firstly rolled the wheel in Soft Suede ink onto Glossy White card stock and punched out three portions of the stamped image using the 1-3/8" Square Punch. Then I took a scrunched up piece of plastic cling wrap and, using it lightly (like a sponge), dabbed a small amount of Frost White Shimmer Paint onto the punched images. Once dry I sponged them with Pink Pirouette and Soft Suede ink. The ink dries on the glossy card stock but is resisted by the shimmer paint so, when you buff the images with a soft tissue, the shiney application of the shimmer paint is revealed.
Some care is needed to get a good finish. Our Classic Stampin' Pads have water-based ink, which will easily bleed into the Shimmer Paint. Firstly, make sure you don't apply too much Shimmer Paint to the cling wrap and, secondly, only apply one quick coat to the image (a dab or two is sufficient). Another alternative is to use a solvent-based, permanent ink like StazOn to stamp your images, then they don't bleed when you apply the shimmer paint.
