My Uncle Ian was married to his very lovely fiance, On, two weekends ago in a pink-themed wedding. It was a lovely afternoon and evening spent celebrating with family and friends.

A few weeks ago, they asked me to make them a Wedding Guest Book. Rather than creating a book, I wanted to alter an off-the-shelf guest book to match their themed wedding and to make it personal. I looked around at what was on offer in stationary stores, but couldn't find much beyond white frilly numbers. So instead I started with a ring-bound photo album with vellum-separated black pages inside. The cover is black vinyl with two square openings, viewing a silver front page underneath. It originally had a piece of paua in each of the openings (they didn't last long!).

The wedding invitation was pink with flowers so, based on that, here's what I created...

Altered Wedding Guest Book

Sorry, a long list this time!... Stamps: Elements of Style (wood: 121504, clear: 120045), Lovely Letters Alphabet (wood: 116392), Vintage Vogue (wood: 119191, clear: 118598). Card/Paper: Melon Mambo (119980), Pretty In Pink (106568), Old Olive (106576), Very Vanilla (106550), Brushed Silver (Brushed Metallic: 106559). Ink: Melon Mambo (115656), Pretty In Pink (101301), Old Olive (102277), Crumb Cake (121030). Accessories: Pretty In Pink 5/8" Satin Ribbon (117289), Chantilly 1/2" Crochet Trim (118480), Antique Brads (117273), Brass Brads (Metallic Brads: 119741), Basic Pearls Jewels (119247). Tools: Fancy Flower Punch (118073), Boho Blossoms Punch (119858), 1-3/4" Circle Punch (119850), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (119860), 1-1/4" Circle Punch (119861), 1" Circle Punch (119868), 3/4" Circle Punch (119873), 1/2" Circle Punch (119869), Scallop Trim Punch (118402), Mat Pack (105826), Paper-Piercing Tool (116631), Stamping Sponges (101610), Sponge Daubers (102892), Sticky Strip (104294), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430). Whew!

The big main flower on the front of the album was created using layers of punched circles and the Fancy Flower Punch, which were stamped, sponged, crushed, distressed and then arranged to create a gorgeous, vibrant flower. The smaller flowers were also created in the same way but with the Boho Blossums Punch. I think with all this layering, I used Stampin' Up!'s full range of circle punches!

Altered Wedding Guest Book

This is the inside of the album, showing the silver front page and flowers that you can view from the openings in the cover...

Altered Wedding Guest Book

I printed out their names and wedding date onto a sheet of Very Vanilla then stamped it, punched the edge with the Scallop Trim Punch and adhered it onto the silver front page...

Altered Wedding Guest Book

What you don't see are the black pages inside that were filled with loving messages from their friends and family, written using pink and silver gel pens (what else would you use!).

Once I finished the guest book, I made a matching wedding card for the couple...

My creations were well received so it makes all the effort and tears well worth while.
