I received a lovely swap from my friend Rayleen. This was on the top of a cellophane bag that held an ANZAC biscuit and a recipe for "The Best ANZAC Biscuits"...

Rayleen's ANZAC Swap

Today in New Zealand is ANZAC Day. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. ANZAC Day is the anniversary of the first major military action by Australian and New Zealand forces in the 1915 Gallipoli campaign during World War I. Over 8,500 Australian soldiers and 2,700 New Zealand soldiers died in the Gallipoli campaign, and even though the campaign was a failure, the ANZAC legend was formed.

Here in New Zealand and in Australia, today we remember all who gave their lives for their country and honour our returned servicemen and women.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

(Ode of Rememberance from Laurence Binyon's poem For the Fallen)

LEST WE FORGET

We will remember them.
