Today I have the annual Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar. Regional seminars are full-day events offering practical business advice, creative demonstrations and free product. We get a free stamp set, Make & Takes, door prizes, lunch and informative presentations by Stampin' Up! staff and local demonstrators. And of course when demonstrators gather we swap. Here are my 36 swaps...
I used the new Motorcycle stamp from the Autumn-Winter Mini (found on page 22). I paired it with another à la carte stamp, For You Flower found on page 160 of the Idea Book & Catalogue.
Stamps: Motorcycle (wood: 123571), For You Flower (wood: 121596). Card/Paper: River Rock (111852), Basic Black (121688), Whisper White (106549). Ink: River Rock (109010), Always Artichoke (105219), Peach Parfait (119783), VersaMark (102283). Accessories: Black Stampin' Emboss Powder (109133), Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder (109130), VersaMarker (102193). Tools: 1-3/8" Circle Punch (119860), 1-1/4" Circle Punch (119861), Brayer (102395), Embossing Buddy (103083), Heat Tool (106586), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
The Motorcycle stamp was embossed and then brayered using River Rock, Always Artichoke and Peach Parfait ink. I had intended on making only 25-30 swaps so, allowing for brayering mistakes, I embossed 36 motorbikes. My brayering was successful and I didn't muck any up, so I ended up with 36 swaps for today!
The emboss-resist and brayering techniques were inspired by a card made by Kerry Bunting that also uses an à la carte stamp - Sail Away (found on page 22 of the mini).
We have also been challenged to make our own name badges using Stampin' Up! products. Here is mine...
... a bit hard to photograph. Sometimes I wish my name was a bit shorter! Here's a close-up...
The flower and colours were inspired by the Mother's Day card I made last year (one of my favourite colour combinations) and a gorgeous flower creation by Clare.
Today should be a really good day of inspiration and creating. If you would like to join me next year...
