Our family tradition on Valentines Day is to tell each other how much we cherish them. We have five cards, one for each member of our family, in which we write messages of love and appreciation. On Valentines Day we have a a special dinner and open our cards. The whole family looks forward to it every year. This year I am being ambitious and making all five Valentines cards. I have finished the first three!

Then today I saw that the Just Add Ink challenge for this week is "Just Add Love". A perfect opportunity that I just couldn't pass up, so I will submit the first two cards.

Here is the first card I made...

Valentines Card

Stamps: Love Defined (wood: 121777, clear: 122066), Well Scripted (wood: 122082, clear: 118601). Card/Paper: Baja Breeze (116207), Pink Pirouette (116203), Certainly Celery (108619), Rose Red (108613), Very Vanilla (106550). Ink: Chocolate Chip (100908), Baja Breeze (111833), Certainly Celery (105217), Rose Red (101778). Accessories: Certainly Celery 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (119963), Frost White Shimmer Paint (116854). Tools: Top Note Bigz Die (113463), Elegant Bouquet Textured Impression Embossing Folder (115964), Sizzix Big Shot (113439), Heart to Heart Punch (119881), Scallop Oval Punch (119856), 1-3/4" x 7/8" Oval Punch (119855), Stampin' Sponges (101610), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).

This card came from my scrap bag, not literally, but that is where it started. In my scraps I found a Pink Pirouette Top Note that I obviously die-cut but didn't use (don't remember that one!), plus I had used it to punch out some hearts for another project (don't remember that one either!). So I embossed the Top Note and backed the heart-shapes with stamped cardstock. I also sponged Frost White Shimmer Paint all over the Pink Pirouette, which gave it a lovely creamy, satin look.

Valentines Card

The second card I made was inspired by the tree from the Love Defined stamp set. I coloured directly onto the stamp with Pear Pizzazz, Rose Red and Early Espresso markers, huffed and stamped. The rest of the card elements just came together...

And the final card was inspired by Andrea Walfords gorgeous Hugs and Kisses card. I kept the layout and colours, but changed up the stamps and some of the elements...
