With the Colour Renovation, Stampin' Up! now have four fantastic core colour collections. Here is the new Neutrals Collection...
ROW 1: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Whisper White |
In the Idea Book & Catalogue, the Neutrals Collection is described as "flawless for accents, yet impressive as a base palette of colours."
Usually I use neutrals as a base for other colours. This card shows that using only neutrals can also be impressive...

The flowers on this card where created using the new Fancy Flower punch and the 5-Petal Flower punch (found on pages 146-148 of the Idea Book & Catalogue). The texture is created using the faux-suede technique, which is essentially splitting the card stock and showing the fibres on the inside. We used this technique on the card we made in the September workshops.
- Click HERE to see the faux-suede effect on the September Workshop project.
The faux-suede effect is achieved by breaking all the fibres in the card stock. You can do this by pressing and manipulating the card stock, using the foam pad from the Mat Pack and a bone folder, until the card stock splits and you can pull it apart. For smaller pieces, you do the same or you can run them through the crimper many times in many different directions until it starts to split.
Other than the colour and the faux-suede, I also love this card because it uses only one stamp! The For You Flower stamp is an à la carte stamp, which is a range of stamps that can be purchased individually. The à la carte stamps can be found on pages 160-161 of the Idea Book & Catalogue.
The à la carte stamps are an easy and economical way to start stamping, plus the designs are fabulous!
