For the 3-cards in 3-hours Workshop we made three cards, each one with a different re-inker technique. Did you know that ink refills can be used as a tool? They are not just for re-inking our stamp pads and Stampin' Around wheel cartridges.

One of the techniques we used is called the Polished Stone technique. This uses Isopropyl Alcohol and ink refills to create a lovely marbled effect. It is great to use as a background, which is what we did on the Upsy Daisy Scallop Circle card. On this card I used that same technique to colour one of the flowers from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set:

3-cards in 3-hours Workshop Thank You Cards

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral (115796), Lovely Labels (116390). Card/Paper: Tempting Turquoise (108598), Rich Razzleberry (119981), Basic Black (106561), Whisper White (106549), Glossy White (106555). Ink: Tempting Turquoise (100814), VersaMark (102283). Accessories: Black Stampin' Emboss Powder (109133), White Stampin' Emboss Powder (109132), Tempting Turquoise Ink Refill (101041), Rich Razzleberry Ink Refill (115664). Tools: Embossing Buddy (103083), Heat Tool (106586), Scallop Circle Punch (109043), 1-3/8" Circle Punch (104401), Scallop Edge Punch (112091), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430). Non-SU!: Isopropyl Alcohol, cotton balls.

Firstly, I stamped the flower using VersaMark on Glossy White card then heat embossed it using black embossing powder. If you are using glossy card, make sure you use an Embossing Buddy because otherwise you will end up with specks where you don't want them. I then applied the colour and once it was dry I cut the flower out and popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

I gave everyone who placed an order at the 3-cards in 3-hours workshop one of these cards as my thanks to them. Thank you!
