Just take a moment to admire the watercolour striped background on this birthday card.  It's surprisingly easy to create with the stunning Painted Stripes background stamp, now available in the March Online Exclusives product release.

Painted Stripes Background Stamp (cling: 165437) - $53.00

I paired the Painted Stripes background stamp with the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper to create that lovely layered background.  The patterned paper is 1 cm (1/2") smaller in dimension to the Basic White Thick card front.  I then cut a piece of Basic White cardstock 0.5 cm (1/4") smaller than the patterned paper and stamped it with the Painted Stripes stamp in Peach Pie ink.  This specialised stamp includes texturing in the rubber, so it appears as if it were watercoloured!  Both pieces were then adhered to the card front at a jaunty angle.

I then popped out the ready-to-use floral bouquet die cut from the Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper and added it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Lastly, I stamped 'hooray' from the Birthday Celebration stamp set in VersaMark ink onto Blueberry Bushel cardstock, added White Embossing Powder, and then heat set.  Before adding the words to the card front, I tucked a White Baker's Twine bow underneath.

So many new suites, bundles, stamp sets, and accessories were added to the online store today, including the fabulous Painted Stripes stamp.  I love how simple it was to create a beautiful background feature for my birthday card.
