So, I have been playing with some of the beautiful products offered in the Sale-A-Bration promotion.  I already shared the Toadstool Gardens Designer Series Paper and Adhesive-Backed Sequins on a sweet toadstool thank you card, but the stand-out Sale-A-Bration product (in my opinion) is the oh-so-cute Friendly Seagulls stamp set.  I used these fun critters and the "I love you more than chips" sentiment to create a cute Valentine's Day card.

The design ideas behind this Valentine's Day card came from different sources. Helen Read inspired the aesthetic look, and this sketch, found on page 12 of the new mini catalogue, inspired the layout.

The card base is Basic White Thick cardstock, and I covered the card front with the blue distressed patterned paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper.  I then die-cut a large, stitched square from Basic White cardstock and applied Pool Party ink along the top edge of the square with a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink along the bottom edge.  I stamped the flock of flying birds in Pool Party ink in the sky and seashell images along the bottom edge of the square in Crumb Cake ink to complete the beach scene.  "I love you MORE than" was stamped onto the inked beach scene and then "CHIPS" on a small rectangle of Crumb Cake cardstock to complete the sentiment.  This stamp set also has "FRENCH FRIES", if that is the preference for naming your fries.  

And then we come to the cute seagull and his chips!  I stamped the seagull in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Basic White cardstock and coloured the beak and feet with Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends, and the wing with the Smoky Slate Light Stampin' Blend.  I added a little colour along the bird's breast with the Smoky Slate Light Stampin' Blend and used the Color Lifter to lighten and blend the grey ink to white.  The fries and box were coloured with Daffodil Delight and Pool Party Stampin' Blends.  These two elements were cut out with Paper Snips and added with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I finished this card with a twist of Linen Thread behind the words and a scattering of Antique Pearls.  The Antique Pearls are found in the new mini catalogue.  I love their soft elegance, plus they have a low profile, which is great for reducing bulk on your projects and for ease of posting greeting cards.

I love this Valentine's Day card with the mischievous seagull.  It is perfect for a fun anniversary card or for writing a note to a dear friend too.  The Friendly Seagulls stamp set has to be my favourite new product in the Sale-A-Bration range.
