Sweetest Star Stamp Set + Sweetest Star Punch Bundle (194098) - $81.75
I created a cute Christmas gift tag using the Sweetest Star Bundle. I began with a piece of Basic White Thick cardstock cut at 5 cm x 10 cm (2" x 4"), stamping the pretty snowflakes in Pool Party ink at the top and the words in Real Red ink at the bottom. In between the stamped images I have adhered Mrs Claus. But I couldn't stop there! I created a second gift tag to add Santa Claus to as well.
The tags were tied onto these super cute gift bags with the very festive Real Red & White Baker's Twine. The gift bag is a simple design created with two pieces of 15 cm x 15 cm (6" x 6") cardstock, scored at 2.5 cm (1") on all four sides. One piece forms the front of the bag and the other the back. This gift bag design is not new and I have seen many iterations. Usually, this gift bag is created using patterned paper, but this time I have used Pool Party Two-Toned cardstock for my gift bag. Not only is the cardstock stronger than patterned paper, but it also has a fun colour difference when you fold over the top cuff. I have chosen to show off the darker side of the two-toned cardstock for the bag and the lighter side for the top cuff.
Santa and Mrs Claus were both stamped in Jet Black StazOn ink onto Basic White cardstock, then punched out using the coordinating punch—a fun plump star-shape! I coloured the characters with Watercolor Pencils and then used a Blender Pen to blend and soften the pencil lines to create a lovely watercolour effect. This is one of my favourite ways of using Watercolor Pencils. So simple with a lovely finish.
These star-shaped characters are actually two stars. I have used the punch to cut out stars from Real Red cardstock and attached Santa and Mrs Claus by adhering to their left arm. Underneath is a place to write who the gift is for.
I am having a lot of fun playing with the Sweetest Star Bundle.
