How fabulous is the new Surfing Santa stamp set?  I love how chill he is in his sunnies, hanging ten on his surfboard with a cool drink!  We created this fun Christmas card at the recent Mini Catalogue Launch Party.

Surfing Santa (photopolymer: 164298) - $38.00

This fun, festive project begins with a Basic White Thick cardstock card base and two 7.5 cm x 2.5 cm (3" x 1") pieces of Regal Distressed Patterns Specialty Designer Series Paper added to the top and bottom edges.  Then, to create a polaroid frame, I cut a 9 cm x 10.5 cm (3-1/2" x 4-1/4") piece of Basic White cardstock and die-cut a square out of the middle using the 7 cm (2-1/4") stitched, square die from the Stylish Shapes set.  After stamping "May your days be sunny & bright" along the bottom edge in Summer Splash ink, I added the frame to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped the wave inside the frame, also in Summer Splash ink.

Then for the fun part... the surfing Santa!  The inspiration for the colouring medium and palette came from Louise Sharp.  Santa is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Basic White cardstock and coloured using Cherry Cobbler and Coastal Cabana from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 pack, also Real Red and Basic Gray from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 1 pack.  I then cut Santa out and added him to his wave on the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals - such fun!

I love that we have fun summer imagery like Surfing Santa to match the warm holiday weather we are all waiting for in the southern hemisphere.  Beaches, barbeques, and Christmas - who's with me?
