In May we welcomed the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue, which includes five new, on-trend colours to add to the Stampin' Up! colour palette.  I have shared two already: Petunia Pop and Peach Pie.  So, let me share with you my insights into a third 2024-2026 In Color... PRETTY IN PINK.

Have you seen the colour wheel on page 132 of the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue?  This page and the opposite one is all about Colour Theory and is a great place to start when you want to pair Stampin' Up! colours and don't know where to start.  On the colour wheel, Pretty in Pink sits between Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo...

Pretty in Pink is a clean baby-pink that is softer and less intense than Melon Mambo.  Pretty in Pink and Flirty Flamingo have a similar richness, but Flirty Flamingo is more orange, with shades of coral, when compared.  You will be forgiven if you think you have seen or heard of this colour before.  Pretty in Pink was last seen in the 2012-2013 Annual Catalogue and has returned - yay!  This is the first time a retired core colour has returned to us in the In Color collections.

In March, I attended a demonstrator-only event in Melbourne called OnStage.  At this event, we had an optional stamping evening, where everything was provided to create three beautiful cards using the 2024-2026 In Colors and products from the new annual catalogue.  It was so exciting because (at the time) they hadn't been released to anyone yet!  This is one of the cards we created using the Country Flowers stamp set and pairing Pretty in Pink with Lemon Lime Twist...

On the bottom of page 22 of the 2024-2025 Annual Catalogue are two rows of card sketches.  This page has 22 line drawings to use as templates to spark your creativity and start your creative juices.  If you look closely, the layout of this "sending love" card is the last sketch on the bottom right! 

To create this card, I began with a card base cut from Pretty in Pink cardstock.  On the card front is a cardstock panel cut from Pretty in Pink that is 8.2 cm x 11.5 cm (3-1/4" x 4-1/2"), then stamped with the mosaic-like floral image in Pretty in Pink ink.  On top of that are two 4.5 cm (1-3/4") Basic White cardstock squares, which are stamped with the pretty bouquet image in Jet Black StazOn.  Pretty in Pink and Lemon Lime Twist inks were applied over the top of the flowers and leaves in a circular motion using the Small Blending Brushes to give a soft smudge of colour.  The words were stamped on a strip of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and added with Stampin' Dimensionals with a cute little Black Baker's Twine bow tucked underneath.  And, lastly, I have added a scattering of Pretty in Pink Shimmer Gems to bring the bling!

How stunning is the combination of Pretty in Pink and Lemon Lime Twist!  It is not a pairing that I would have chosen myself, which is why going to stamping events is so helpful in broadening our knowledge and stepping out of our comfort zone.
