A slider card is a fun design that gives movement to elements of your project and it is not too difficult to create! This birthday slider card was inspired by Emilie Veyssilier and uses the Hot Air Balloon Bundle...

Hot Air Balloon Stamp Set + Hot Air Balloon Dies Bundle (photopolymer: 162755) - $94.50
The card base is Balmy Blue cardstock cut and folded to create a pocket envelope. On the card front, I have stamped the hot air balloons in Balmy Blue ink and overlaid some die-cut clouds in Vellum and Basic White cardstock. Be sure to stick these pieces down flat so that the element that slides over your card doesn't catch on them.
The featured hot air balloon was stamped in Fresh Freesia ink and die-cut out. Onto this stamped hot air balloon, I have added a die-cut basket, some fun bunting flags, and a big banner, which I stamped with "wish big" in Azure Afternoon ink.
When you pull the inside of the slider card up...
... the hot air balloon rises! The hot air balloon is connected through the slot cut into the front of the pocket envelope to the Basic White Thick card that is tucked inside.
I wanted to add a fun design to the inside card too, so I die-cut three clouds from Masking Paper, temporarily stuck them to the top of the cardstock, and then softly applied Balmy Blue ink with a Small Blending Brush over the top. When I removed the Masking Paper clouds, it left behind this fun sky scene for my hot air balloon to rise into!
The slider card design is great for this birthday card as it perfectly mimics the lifting off of a hot air balloon. But imagine these ideas... a bee lifting off a flower when you pull up the inner. Or, turn the card so it has a landscape orientation and have a truck zoom across the card front. So many possibilities!
