I am channelling all my sunny-weather vibes to keep the beautiful weather we have been having this Summer.  As I sit here writing this, I can hear kids playing outside, lawns being mowed, and the ice cream truck jingle calling out... it's the perfect time of the year to indulge in a little ice cream!  What about an ice cream birthday card?

This birthday card was created using the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle and coloured with fun summery colours... Bubble Bath, Sweet Sorbet, Granny Apple Green, and Pecan Pie.  The usual practice for colouring outline images is to stamp the image in a dark colour (like black) and then add colour - like a colouring book.  This project is a little different as I stamped the image in the same colour as I coloured it.  This tone-on-tone stamping and colouring gives a nice, soft finish to the card.  You should give it a go on your next creative project!

This ice cream birthday card comes with a little surprise... the ice cream cone lifts to reveal a hidden message!  This is easy to do with the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle as the die for cutting out the cone is mirrored and has a scored line in between, to create a little note card, tag, or invitation.  I have used it on the front of this card for a simple, interactive fun-fold design.

And then there is space on the inside of the card to write a birthday message.

When I first saw the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle with the versatile ice cream cone die, I knew I wanted to create this birthday card with a hidden message under the flap.  I am so pleased with how it turned out and how the yummy colours came together.
