Have you seen the Christmas tree decorations pictured on page 17 of the September-December 2023 Mini Catalogue? These stunning decorations use metallic macramé hoops or dream catcher rings to suspend a circular element. In the mini catalogue, the artisan has used the Night Divine and Stars at Night Bundles. For my Christmas tree decoration, I have used the Wishes All Around Bundle...
Bundles: Wishes All Around Stamp Set + Wishes All Around Dies (cling: 162066). Ink: Mossy Meadow (147111), VersaMark (102283). Card/Paper: Poppy Parade (121694), Mossy Meadow (133683), Old Olive (106576), Flirty Flamingo (141421), Basic White (159228). Accessories: White Baker's Twine (Baker's Twine Essentials Pack: 155475), Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels (159897), White Stampin' Emboss Powder (Basics Embossing Powders: 155554). Tools: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (149653), Deckled Circles Dies (162286), Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder (162115), Heat Tool (129056), Embossing Additions Tool Kit (159971), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
The macramé hoop I have used for my Christmas tree decoration is 10 cm or 4" across, but you can vary this size depending on what you want to decorate it with. Then you use a strong string (like the Silver Trim I have used here) to stretch across the hoop and tie off at the top. Mini Glue Dots are great for making sure that the two ends of the string are tightly secured to the hoop. Then, your best friend for completing this fun decoration is the Deckled Circles Dies. You will need two die-cut circles that are a bit smaller than your macramé hoop. These circles sandwich the string and are secured with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Deckled Circles Dies (162286) - $78.00
14 dies: smallest = 2.5 cm or 1", largest = 14.6 cm or 5-3/4"
Then all you need to do is personalise your decoration to match Christmas tree or to your suit your taste. I used a Small Blending Brush to softly add Tahitian Tide ink around the white die-cut circle on the front of my decoration and then stamped "Make it Merry" in Tahitian Tide ink in the middle. To the front of this, I added two die-cut wreaths from the Wishes All Around Bundle. The bottom wreath is die-cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock. The top wreath is die-cut from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, which I gave a quick wash with the widest Water Painter using Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green inks. This watercolour wash technique is a great way of getting a beautiful variegated finish.
I then finished my wreath Christmas tree decoration with Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins, which are low profile and so bright and beautiful!
Unfortunately, the Wishes All Around Bundle with the stunning wreath imagery has been so popular, that it has already sold out in the Last Chance Products Sale. However, there are many other fabulous products in the mini catalogue that would work well for this project. Just be sure you get them before the mini catalogue finishes on 3 January!
