On Sunday we held the second of three Hamilton Extravaganzas for this year, which featured some of the beautiful new colours and products from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue. 48 sheets of patterned paper: 4 each of 12 double-sided designs
This card design was inspired by Patty Bennett, and I adapted it to fit our A4 cardstock and standard C6 envelopes. It is called a 2-4-6-8 Fun Fold Card because the patterned paper on the front is scored at 2", 4", 6", and 8" to create these fun layers...
All those fun layers gave me an excuse to play with many of the fun Circle Sayings stamps. They are all so great, but my favourite is definitely the cupcake, which I have stamped in Fresh Freesia ink, coloured with Bubble Bath Stampin' Blends, and then finished with a fun little Brushed Brass Butterfly.
I wanted to have some fun with the front of this card with a play on the circle elements by adding a rosette. This was created by taking two pieces of Basic White cardstock cut at 11-1/2" x 1-1/2", scoring them every 1/2" and alternate folding along the score lines in a zig-zag-like fashion. I then adhered the ends of the two pieces together, circled the long length around, and adhered the opposite end together. Then, like magic, when you press this down flat, you can squeeze this into a rosette!
I applied Adhesive Sheet behind two circles and used these to secure the rosette shape - a 2-3/8" punched circle from Basic White cardstock for the back and a die-cut stitched circle from Bubble Bath cardstock for the front. The rosette certainly makes a grand statement on the front of this card, however, it does make it rather bulky to fit inside a standard envelope. So, I created a custom envelope that coordinates with the card and has the depth required.
The "celebrate" from the Circle Sayings Bundle has Stampin' Dimensionals under the lower half of the punched circle only and secures the flap of the envelope closed.
I was really pleased with how this 2-4-6-8 Fun Fold Card evolved and turned into something really special. I was also pleased to hear that it was enjoyed by those who attended the Hamilton Extravaganza on Sunday too!
