Here is a fun fact... the beautiful textures in the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper were actually created by one of the Stampin' Up! artists using her pottery skills.  She made tiles with a variety of different clays and patterns, then glazed and fired them, before photographing them to create this stunning patterned paper.  How amazing is that!

The design of this thank you card is an Interlocking Gatefold Card, which was inspired by a similar fun-fold project created by Terri Gaines.  I ran with the idea and altered the dimensions to better fit A4 cardstock and a standard C6 envelope.  When you open this card, the lovely Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper that frames the background "unlocks" from behind the front panel the gatefold design reveals the inner like this...

How fun is that! 

The front panel of this card has so much to talk about.  Let's start with the beautiful clay vases and something that may not be obvious... die-cutting the stamped images does not leave the usual white border, instead, it cuts just inside the stamped image so you get stunning texture across the whole vase.  Speaking of die-cutting, one of the dies in the Earthen Textures Bundle does not actually die-cut - it creates a fun debossed impression, which you can see in the background.  Then there is the very simple, but very effective, technique of wrapping one of the vases with the Natural Wavy Trim.  And lastly, that gorgeous branch!  This was die-cut from Pecan Pie cardstock.  But I didn't stop there... I snipped the little connecting pieces between the fronds and then folded each of the leaves to make this fun organic element really pop!

The words in the Earthen Textures stamp set are all about gratitude, thanks, and support, which was perfect for completing this gatefold thank-you card, which I am sure that the recipient is sure to love.
