I love using the In the Country stamp set to create sympathy cards or thinking of you cards for the still, quiet hand-drawn scenes.  I have chosen to use a no-line watercolour technique for this beautiful Mediterranean-inspired sympathy card.

To create this watercolour finish, I started by stamping the image in Sahara Sand ink (a nice pale colour that works with the colour palette I was using) onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  This watercolour paper is essential for this technique as it is robust and will happily take all the ink and water you throw at it! 

I then sat down for a therapeutic colouring session!  I used Sahara Sand ink for the stairs and walls, Garden Green ink for the greenery, and Pacific Point ink for the door and hanging flower pot.  I squeezed each of the closed stamp pads so that ink pooled in the lid and then opened the stamp pad and picked up the ink from the lid using the fine-tipped Water Painter to watercolour colour each of the areas.

The words for this watercoloured sympathy card come from another Sale-A-Bration stamp set, called Sending Support, which is filled with lovely heartfelt and encouraging sentiments.  I have stamped some of those words on the inside of the card too...
