Yesterday we held the much-anticipated Hamilton Christmas Extravaganza. It was such a fun day! Fiona and I taught everyone how to create this fun, tall easel card using products from the beautiful Lights Aglow Suite and the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder...
Bundles: Christmas Lights Stamp Set + Twinkling Lights Dies (cling: 159961), Brightest Glow Stamp Set + Labels Aglow Dies (cling: 159552). Ink: VersaMark (102283). Card/Paper: Evening Evergreen (155575), Cherry Cobbler (121681), Very Vanilla (106550), Vellum (106584), Distressed Gold 12" x 12" Specialty Paper (159237). Accessories: Gold & Vanilla 3/8" Satin-Edged Ribbon (159555), Festive Pearls (159963), Gold Embossing Powder (Metallics: 155555). Tools: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (149653), Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder (159831), Heat Tool (129056), Adhesive Sheets (152334), Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108).
This easel card was designed to be more than just a Christmas card, it is also a lovely decor piece. A battery-powered tealight candle sits in the space behind the propped-up card front and the light shows through!
To get this lovely effect, we began by die-cutting the Christmas tree shape from the Christmas Lights Bundle out of the card front. We then embossed a piece of vellum with the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it over the opening. The embossed vellum is stunning!
The Christmas tree that was die-cut from the card front had gold-embossed details stamped on it and then die-cut again with the detailed Christmas tree die. This embellished Christmas Tree was then added over the die-cut opening with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. I love how the light glows from behind the lifted Christmas tree and how it shows through the tree like twinkling lights!
We mimicked that twinkling lights theme inside the card too...
The Very Vanilla cardstock inside the easel card was die-cut using the lovely radiant circle die from the Brightest Glow Bundle and then a piece of Distressed Gold Specialty Paper was stuck underneath. We stamped one of the sentiments in the Brightest Glow Bundle, die-cut it with the circle, and then popped it inside on with a Mini Stampin' Dimensional as a prop for standing up the card.
This Christmas easel card then folds flat for posting.
Next week I will share the other projects we created at the Hamilton Christmas Extravaganza after the events in other cities have been held.
