I can't believe she's 21! Yes, my eldest turned 21 last month, and it is a milestone birthday in New Zealand, which we celebrate in a big way. This special celebration harks back to when 21 was the legal age of becoming an adult. So, for her birthday, I created a special birthday card with a beautiful pacific feel using the fabulous Waves of the Ocean Collection.

Waves of the Ocean Collection (161797) - $167.75
This tunnel box card design is by Julie Dimatteo, which I have altered to fit our standard A4 cardstock. The front is finished with the stunning Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper, which has a great creation story! The artist used an acrylic paint pouring technique on a canvas, which was then photographed and colour corrected to create this beautiful series of patterned papers.
Acrylic Paint Pouring is fascinating! It is an abstract painting technique where artists pour fluid acrylic paints onto a canvas. Silicone is added to the paint to create the beautiful webbing or "cells" in these pours. This paper shows off the swirls and cells created by this fun technique.
The die-cut wave across the front of this 21st birthday card adds to the movement along with enhancing the depth of the layers underneath. I love the Waves of the Ocean Collection and if you have fallen in love with it too, then be sure to order it all before 2 May, which is when the promotion finishes.
