Take another look at the off-cuts from die-cutting.  Sometimes these shapes are not destined for the rubbish bin but are great for using as stencils!  For example, the fabulous dies in the Brilliant Rainbow Dies.  These shapes could be used as a mask to sponge ink through or, in this case, as an overlay for gorgeous patterned paper.

To create this fun rainbow thank you card, I began by adhering a 7.5 cm or 3" square piece of the Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper to the front of a Note Card.  I then die-cut the rainbow from a 7 cm or 2-3/4" square of Basic White cardstock and centred this over the designer paper with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  The pretty accents and embellishments you add to this are up to you!  I added the die-cut cloud with a stamped sentiment, some gold trim, and a pretty Brushed Brass Butterfly.
