Slimline cards are so simple to create are a fun shape to work with.  Just begin with half an A4 piece of cardstock then, instead of scoring and folding like a standard card, score and fold the other direction!  This is my slimline Mother's Day card using some of the gorgeous products from the Fine Art Floral Suite...

I have used the same tear-and-tape-to-add-gilded-leafing technique as my masculine slimline card to create a lovely textured, gold border.  I have also used Heat & Stick Powder to add Gilded Leafing to a stamped image...

Heat & Stick Powder is used just like embossing powders.  The only difference is that when it is heated, the white powder turns clear (very quickly so don't overheat!) and is then tacky for a short period of time.

For my Mother's Day card, I first stamped the flower head from the Art Gallery stamp set in Merry Merlot ink onto Basic White cardstock.  I then stamped the flower accent image over the top in VersaMark ink, added Heat & Stick Powder, and heated it until it just melts and goes clear.  I then immediately pressed it into the Gilded Leafing.  After the cardstock cooled (only about 20 seconds), I lifted out the stamped image, brushed off the excess gold leaf, and then die-cut with the Floral Gallery Dies.
