Butterfly Brilliance Treat Boxes

I think I have found my new messy crafting product... Gilded Leafing!  This is a pot of gorgeous gold flakes that are light and soft.  I have used the Gilded Leafing as a gold accent on these butterfly treat boxes...

There are a few different ways you can adhere the Gilded Leafing to a project.  One way is to stamp an image in VersaMark, apply Heat & Stick Powder, which goes sticky when heated, then apply the gold flakes.  Once the image is cooled, you can brush off excess flakes to reveal a gold image.

Another way is to apply the flakes directly to adhesive, which is what I have done for these butterflies.  I sponged Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue onto the edges of the die-cut butterflies, added the Gilded Leafing, and brushed off the excess once the glue was dry.

The gilded die-cut butterflies make beautiful gold accents to add to the front of the Love You Always Treat Boxes, which were filled with yummy Easter Eggs.

These sweet butterfly treat boxes were the gifts that I created for all my guests at the recent Hamilton Extravaganza.
