Hamilton Extravaganza

Last weekend we held the Hamilton Extravaganza... a fun day of inspiration, crafting, and gathering with like-minded friends.

At this fun event, all guests are pampered with gift bags and prizes drawn throughout the day.  My guests received this lovely mint-green gift bag, similar to Mint Macaron in colour, which was customised with a Fine Art Floral Ribbon bow and the largest die-cut butterfly from the Brilliant Wings Dies.  The edges of the butterflies were sponged with some Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then gold Guilded Leafing brushed on... so scrummy!

All the guests are seated in five groups of tables and each teacher rotates around the tables to present their project.  First up, this is the stunning Bendi Card that Karen Handler taught everyone using the Pretty Perennials Bundle and True Love Designer Series Paper.  I love how the two sides of this card bend and tuck snuggly behind the bright, die-cut flowers...

Then we had Fiona Sisam share how to create a fun birthday shaker card using the Ice Cream Corner Suite, a lovely design inspired by Priscilla Ivler...

Sally Williams and Lesley Scott put a fabulous spin on a Front-Step Card and mounted a window scene as a card front.  This pretty card was created using the Welcoming Window Bundle, Grace's Garden stamp set (retiring)...

And then there was Jacque Williams' gorgeous card using a Flip Flap Gatefold card design.  This project was inspired by Jo Blackman and uses the Hydrangea Hill Suite.  I took lots of photos so you can get the full experience of this interactive card...

And finally, my project.  This is a Centre-Step Easel Card, a card design inspired by Amanda Bates.  I paired the Happy Thoughts stamp set with the newly-released Butterfly Brilliance Bundle, Butterfly Bijou Designer Paper (sold out), and Natural Touch Specialty Paper to complete this Congratulations card.  The butterflies were heat-embossed with white embossing powder onto Vellum cardstock, and the backs of each butterfly coloured with coordinating Stampin' Blends, the same technique I used to finish THIS birthday card.
