The beautiful Hydrangea Hill Suite has been extremely popular since its release in the mini catalogue at the beginning of January, and you can see why with the stunning colours and amazing imagery in the Hydrangea Haven Bundle and Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper.  I have used these products to create this lovely Hydrangea notepad gift set...

This project begins as a 23 cm x 15 cm piece of cardstock scored at 10 cm, 11 cm, and 12 cm, which is then folded and slots cut for a pen to slide alongside the cover.  And then the fun begins!  To decorate the front of the notepad booklet, I added a piece of the Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper and carried on the hydrangea theme with more hydrangea flowers!  Take a look at the head of this hydrangea stem...

The outline is stamped in Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock then a wash of colour is stamped over the flowers in Highland Heather ink, and the leaves are stamped in Old Olive ink.  This stamped image is then die-cut twice.  The whole stem is cut out first.  There is a die in the Hydrangea Dies that matches the head of the flower that has little hydrangea blossoms all over it, this is the second die-cut.  This die cuts around the outside of the flower and also cuts flower petals that can be raised on the front to give a lovely texture.

Inside this gift set is a 9.5 cm x 14.5 cm (3-3/4" x 5-3/4") lined notepad that I purchased as a pack of eight from a local dollar store and then proceeded to stamp it with some more hydrangeas.  To complement this gift set, I got a clear-barreled pen and added a piece of the same designer paper pattern inside.  If you live in New Zealand, I use the inexpensive Black Office Max Ballpoint Pens.
