I was having a play around with a box design and accidentally created this cute mini milk carton gift box.  It was not what I intended to create, but love it!  The design is easy to create, plus fun to fill to give away.  The colours and final finish of this mini milk carton gift box were inspired by Cheryll Miller's Love of Leaves greeting card, which uses the fabulous Love of Leaves Bundle.

Love of Leaves Stamp Set + Stitched Leaves Dies Bundle (155195) - $100.75

To re-create the gorgeous watercolour look on the leaves, I mounted each leaf onto the Stamparatus and used the Water Painters to ink the stamps, firstly with Bumblebee ink, then Mango Melody ink, and finally Mossy Meadow ink, cleaning the brush and stamp in between each stamped impression.  Because each colour is laid down separately, the inks stay lovely and bright and don't bleed into each other, avoiding that muddy-look.

The trick to this watercolour technique is to apply the ink to the stamps using a very wet brush so that the ink moves and spreads when stamping, achieving a lovely watercolour-look.

Once stamped, the smaller leaf was die-cut with beautiful stitched details and then the panel added to the front of the mini milk carton box.  The large leaf also received the die-cut-stitched-details treatment and was then die-cut out and added with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to the front of the gift box.
