How cute is this!!!  This darling little suitcase gift box has the retro-feel of a vintage travel suitcase, complete with buckled luggage straps.

The first suitcase gift box I created was made without any stamping and I love the smart and clean look of the finished project.  But then I decided to create a second one and give it a little character.  I stamped this suitcase gift box using the travel imagery found in the Beautiful World stamp set.  The outside sleeve of the suitcase gift box is Cinnamon Cider cardstock.  Before constructing the box, I stamped the world images, compass, inkpot, and quill in Cinnamon Cider ink, sometimes stamping it off once or twice beforehand to get variation in ink tones.

I adhered leather patches to the corners to add to the vintage character of my suitcase gift box.  These are the smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies, die-cut from Early Espresso cardstock and then sponged with Early Espresso ink.  To complete the look, I have wrapped Early Espresso Faux-Suede Trim around the suitcase and secured it with the ribbon slides from the Antiqued Corners & Slides Elements.
