Welcome to Your Creative Connection; a bi-monthly creative showcase which comes to you on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday/Thursday of each month.  Your Creative Connection came together from a group of eight global friends wanting to give you a worldwide connection to creativity.  We hope to inspire you to connect with us as we share papercraft ideas using Stampin’ Up! products.  Each showcase will have a theme, and we will ‘travel’ around the world to connect with our creative friends.

This week's Your Creative Connection theme is SOMETHING OLD & SOMETHING NEW, so I decided to recreate an old, popular project with new products and new colours from the gorgeous 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue.  I have recreated the Easter Diagonal-Lidded Gift Box using the Jar of Flowers stamp set and coordinating Jar Punch in an unexpected way...

Jar of Flowers Stamp Set + Jar Punch Bundle (154064) - $77.25

Instead of a "jar of flowers", I used this stamp set to create a pink milkshake-in-a-jar with the lovely head of cream!  The jar is made up of two punched layers.  The bottom layer is Whisper White cardstock with the 'milkshake' outline stamped in Petal Pink ink.  I then cleaned the stamp, reversed it, and stamped the 'milkshake' fill in Petal Pink again, but this time stamping off beforehand so it is lighter than the outline.  The top layer is vellum with the jar outline stamped in Jet Black StazOn.  This I turned over, laid it on the Stampin' Pierce Mat, and used the stylus attachment for the Take Your Pick Tool to "draw" circles on the upper half.  The pressure from the stylus causes the vellum to turn white and gives the effect of cream.  Between the layers is the straw, which is the striped border stamp embossed in white onto a thin strip of Balmy Blue cardstock.

This diagonal-lidded gift box was a design by Julie Dimatteo that I altered to be bigger.  Here's how it opens...  just undo the ribbon tied around the box and the lid comes off in two diagonal halves.

I am loving this colour combination of Petal Pink and Balmy Blue with the new Misty Moonlight, one of the 2020-2022 In Colors.
