Once a holiday like Valentine's Day, Easter, or Christmas, is done and dusted, we will often put aside the stamps and designer paper that was devised for those occasions.  I want to challenge you to use those holiday-specific products throughout the year too!  For example, this masculine birthday card was inspired by the stunning stripes found in the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper, a set of patterned papers designed specifically for Valentine's Day.

Twelve 12" x 12" (30.5 cm x 30.5 cm) sheets of patterned paper: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs

The stripes in this designer paper are Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, and Whisper White.  To that colour combination, I added Seaside Spray and Basic Gray and pulled out the versatile Above The Clouds stamp set and coordinating Hot Air Balloon Punch.  This birthday card is for my brother-in-law and we were giving him a gift voucher, so I recreated my version of Dawn Griffith's Z-Fold Gift Card Holder.  This card design folds flat for posting...

The front flap is tucked under the hot air balloon on the lower left and the Seaside Spray cardstock panel.  When you release the flap, the card opens...

... and opens again, to reveal a birthday message and a pocket with a gift card inside!

Ha ha... no, we didn't give my brother-in-law a Smiggle gift card, it was just one I had around here that I slipped inside to take these photos.

Who would have thought... a masculine birthday gift card holder from Valentine's Day designer paper!  Now I challenge you to take a closer look at the occasion-specific stamps and designer paper you have to see what else you can use them for.  Hopefully, you won't look at them the same way again!
