Welcome to Your Creative Connection; a bi-monthly creative showcase which comes to you on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday/Thursday of each month. Your Creative Connection came together from a group of eight global friends wanting to give you a worldwide connection to creativity. We hope to inspire you to connect with us as we share papercraft ideas using Stampin’ Up! products. Each showcase will have a theme, and we will ‘travel’ around the world to connect with our creative friends.
This week's Your Creative Connection theme is A RAINBOW FOR YOU. I had trouble figuring out the best way to include all the colours of a rainbow on one project without it looking over-the-top. So instead, I created two cards that, combined, cover the spectrum of colours from Real Red to Night of Navy!
Stamps: Seriously The Best (cling: 151712). Ink: Poppy Parade (147050), Pumpkin Pie (147086), Mango Melody (147093), Daffodil Delight (147094), Shaded Spruce (147088), Bermuda Bay (147096), Pacific Point (147098), Night of Navy (147110). Card/Paper: Real Red (106578), Pumpkin Pie (108601), Mango Melody (147013), Daffodil Delight (121680), Granny Apple Green (147014), Bermuda Bay (131286), Pacific Point (116202), Night of Navy (106577), Whisper White (106549), Whisper White Thick (140490). Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewels (144220). Tools: Cherry Blossoms Dies (151456), Subtle 3D Embossing Folder (151775), Sponge Daubers (133773), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108).
These cards were created using the Seriously The Best stamp set, which usually pairs with the Seriously The Best Project Kit. I love the big, bold words in this stamp set and wanted to use them as one of the five rainbow colours on each card, and a focal point for the project...
Seriously The Best (cling: 151712) - $40.00
The cute, little flowers, which are stamped all over the lower cardstock panels, are also in the Seriously The Best stamp set. Once stamped, all the panels were then embossed twice with the Subtle embossing folder, first landscape and then portrait, to give the cardstock a lovely canvas-look.
Both of these cards were finished with die-cut flowers from the Cherry Blossoms Dies, which have a similar shape as the little, stamped flowers. I sponged the edges of each blossom with the matching ink colour to add some contrast from the same-toned cardstock it was added to.
These two cards are so bright and cheery that they make me smile whenever I look at them. I look forward to sending them to someone to make them smile too!
