The Chinese lantern is used for celebrations of all kinds, but the most well-known celebration is the Lantern Festival, which marks the final day of the traditional Chinese New Year. I know it's not that time of year yet, however since lanterns have an association with New Year and new beginnings, it's only appropriate that today I share this pretty thank you card I created using the lantern image from the Color Me Happy stamp set...

This clean-and-simple card was inspired by Holly Stene's lantern cards, where she coloured and blended using multiple Stampin' Blends Markers. Not only do the Stampin' Blends Markers blend easily together in their colour duo, you can see that they also blend well with mixtures of colours...

Don't be afraid to mix and match your blending with alcohol-based markers. Unlike water-based markers, you can't cross-contaminate and damage your Stampin' Blends Markers by doing this. The blue lantern is coloured using the Light Night of Navy, Dark Pool Party, Light Pool Party and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Markers. The purple lantern is coloured using the Dark Rich Razzleberry, Light Rich Razzleberry, Light Pumpkin Pie and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Markers. The lanterns were finished with Clear Wink of Stella brushed over the top to make them shine.
