Continuing with an overview of the new 2017-2019 In Colors, I want to introduce you to our third colour, the deep Fresh Fig...
Fresh Fig is a rich and moody colour that falls into the same magenta colour range as Rich Razzleberry and the new Berry Burst, but is a deeper shade of red-violet. It's a dusty colour like Sweet Sugarplum and Perfect Plum, but tends more towards the warmer Sweet Sugarplum, rather than the cooler and more purple Perfect Plum.
Bundle: Oh So Eclectic Stamp Set + Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies (wood: 145355, clear: 145356). Ink: Fresh Fig (144083). Card/Paper: Perfect Plum (108615), Fresh Fig (144248), Rich Razzleberry (119981), Sweet Sugarplum (141423), Whisper White (106549). Accessories: Embossing Paste (141979), Palette Knives (142808), Fresh Fig 1/8" Sheer Ribbon (144173). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (144108).
This card layout was inspired by the colour swatches in the new Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack and it compares Fresh Fig with three other current Stampin' Up! colours to help you get an understanding and appreciation for this pretty new colour...
This sweet "You're Just Lovely" card features the Oh So Eclectic stamp set and coordinating Eclectic Layers Thinlits from the Naturally Eclectic Suite. There's not much stamping on this card, just a sentiment, which I have stamped and hand-cut the words. Adding these small pieces to the card was so easy with the new Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
Oh So Eclectic Wood-Mount Stamp Set + Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies Bundle (145355) - $112.50
Oh So Eclectic Clear-Mount Stamp Set + Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies Bundle (145356) - $97.00
The wow-factor of this card is the embossed hearts, which is one of three metal dies that press an impression into the card stock, rather than die-cutting. The other two are a pair of leaves and a flower stamen.
Speaking of embossing, another textural element of this card is the raised diamonds on the Whisper White card base (above and below and card stock swatches). To create this effect, I die-cut the lattice from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits and used it as a mask over my card. I then spread some Embossing Paste over the improvised mask before removing the mask and leaving the Embossing Paste to dry.
Embossing Paste (141979) - $14.00
Palette Knives (142808) - $11.00
