With the release of any Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, there are always exciting new stamps and fabulous coordinating tools and accessories, and the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue doesn't disappoint. Also, each new annual catalogue introduces five on-trend colours that are always a welcome addition to anyone's stamping collection. This year's colours are the 2017-2019 In Colors and it's a fabulous mixture of bright, soft, and rich hues...

These five colours aren't designed for using as a collection, but rather for combining with existing colours to refresh and revitalise them. However, as we've seen, some of the 2017-2019 In Colors combine beautifully, like the Eastern Palace Suite (Lemon Lime Twist, Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide). Because I like to showcase these five new colours in the first project for an annual catalogue, the challenge was to use the 2017-2019 In Colors as my palate...

I think I nailed it! The watercoloured background on my card was created using the same technique as my Beautiful You card. However, before I applied the wash of colour, I used the paint-pot image from the new Crafting Forever stamp, stamping it with Whisper White ink and heat embossing with white embossing powder. It's a great resist technique and I love how the colours concentrate inside the embossed areas.

The Crafting Forever stamp set was a perfect pick for my Mum's birthday card as we are giving her money towards a weaving loom... "Crafting Forever! Housework Whenever."

The Crafting Forever stamp set really speaks to me and it's sure to get a lot of use. Incidentally, the Crafting Forever stamp set is the Angel Policy stamp set in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue. Do you see the individual Stampin' Up! Copyright stamp?

In addition to the five new 2017-2019 In Colors featured on my card, you will have spotted the gorgeous new 1/4" Copper Trim. This is a loose-weave ribbon with zigzag stitching that can be used as it is (like the product picture) or stretched out to create a fabulous copper mesh, as I have on the front of my card.

You may have also spied the new enamel dots on my card front too. These are Glitter Enamel Dots and they are sparkly, self-adhesive domes that come in ombre shades of four colours. I've used the lightest, middle and dark shades of the Berry Burst Glitter Enamel Dots.
