To create the gorgeous background for my card, I started by squeezing the closed Rich Razzleberry stamp pad so that ink pooled in the lid. Then I used an Aqua Painter, loaded with a generous amount of ink, to wash a stripe of colour onto Watercolor Paper. I repeated this with Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight ink (all from the Brights collection). I then spritzed the ink with water and let it pool and run over the Watercolor Paper until I was happy with the result. At this stage you could let the card air dry or dry it quickly with a Heat Tool. To finish the front of the card, I used the largest detailed dragonfly die for the front of this card, die-cut in pretty, Shimmery White card stock and backed with a nest of Silver Metallic Thread.
This simple friendship card was inspired by a sample I saw at our OnStage event in Brisbane last year. OnStage is a Stampin' Up! event that's run every 6-months where demonstrators get together, receive practical business training and share wonderful, creative ideas. It's so much fun and really inspiring. The next OnStage is in Auckland in April this year and there's a lot of excitement right now as registration opened yesterday!
