The colours and designs in the Hugs from Shelli Kit are gorgeous and I caved. Yes, I caved and purchased the kit and don't regret it! You see, it wasn't just the contents that appealed, it was the time-poor me that decided to use the Hugs from Shelli Kit as my thank you cards for orders placed during this past month. In one evening I created 36 thank you cards! So, I am going to share the four gorgeous card designs from the kit, but be aware that they all are stamped with "Grateful For You". There are other versatile sentiments included in the kit that you could use for your cards, including "Hello Friend", "Thank You Dear Friend", and "Hugs For You".
I am a sucker for watercolour-washed backgrounds and a lot of my cards include this technique. It's such a quick and simple way to add a splash of colour that is irregular and fun! This birthday card, which features the Piece of Cake stamp set, has a watercolour wash of Bermuda Bay ink over Shimmery White card stock. The trick to getting a lovely "even" watercolour is to start with a wet Aqua Painter and lay down a puddle of water and it's into this you add the ink.
In April I attended a Stampin' Up! convention, called OnStage, which included fabulous product demonstrations with some really great techniques.
