Why the new body style for punches?

Starting with the 2010 Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue, Stampin' Up! has adopted a new body style for punches. While the black-bodied punches were great, Stampin' Up!'s committment to providing the very best crafting tools means that even if something works very well, if they see a chance to improve it, they will work to made it even better. You will see from the feature list below why this new punch body improves on the old.

New Punch Design

A few features of the new punch style:

Low-profile, rectangular punch body allows for easier stacking and storing
Punches lock shut for easier storage and transport
Dual labels on top and end allow for easy identification and selection when stored
Available in four sizes: small, medium, large and extra-large
New punches allow for larger punched images and more intricate designs while providing greater ease of use.
Extra-large punch images also allow for two-step designs like the Two-Step Bird punch
Larger, whole-hand handle design provides better leverage for easier use
Available in an exclusive Stampin' Up! colour

The new punch body style is designed to be used on a flat surface, not held in your hand. Bonnie Thurber of Stampin’ Up! does a great job of showing how to use the new punches*...

My Digital Studio

In 2010, Stampin' Up! did a big colour renovation and shared plans for smaller colour refreshes every three to five years to keep their colours on trend. Three years on and Stampin' Up! has announced that the upcoming 2013-2014 Annual Catalogue will include 10 new colours (most of which are returning In Colors).

Stampin' Up! have found that the new ink formula for the Basic Black Classic Stampin’ Pad (126980) smears, especially when stamped on Whisper White and Very Vanilla card stock. Their supplier currently resolving the issue, making sure they find the right combination of ink and card stock. Providing a quality product is their top priority. An excellent alternative, in the interim, is Jet Black StazOn (101406) on page 157 of the Annual Catalogue.

I am a stay-at-home mum with three kids and a wonderfully supportive husband. I love craft, but stamping and card-making is my passion. I also enjoy extending card-making and stamping techniques to create 3-D projects and gifts.

I was introduced to Stampin' Up! a few years ago and I quickly fell in love with their co-ordinating products and, soon after, became an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. I now hold regular workshops in my home focussing on the fabulous paper-craft products Stampin' Up! has to offer.

I enjoy sharing what I know with others and inspiring their stamping creativity.
