Welcome to Creative Stamping.

I offer workshops and demonstrations all focused on the fabulous papercraft products Stampin' Up! has to offer. As an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I am here to showcase Stampin' Up! products, share special offers and give you fun project ideas.  I look forward to sharing my love of stamping with you and inspiring your creativity.

Great Friend Card

Great Friend Card
Stamps: Great Friend (116889).  Card/Paper: Baja Breeze (116207), Whisper White (106549), Chocolate Chip (108599), Kiwi Kiss (116204).  Ink: Chocolate Chip (100908), Kiwi Kiss (111835), Baja Breeze (111833).  Accessories: Flower Designer Brads (112583).  Tools: Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).

I don't have this stamp set, but I would really like it.  It is the Great Friend stamp set out of the Spring Mini Catalogue, which I borrowed from a friend to make this card.  I also used the new flower brads from the mini catalogue - very yummy!

The products in the Spring Mini Catalogue  are only available until the end of November, so contact me about coming around to see what other great stamps and accessories there are.  If you want your own copy of the mini catalogue, I am giving them away free when you purchase an Idea Book & Catalogue from me.  The catalogues are usually $14.95, however I have a special for August where they are 20% off.

Just Beachy Scrapbooking

This is my first foray into scrapbooking!  I really enjoyed creating these three 8" x 8" layouts featuring my kids at our favourite weekend-away-spot - Kawhia.  I used a lot of the same techniques that I use when cardmaking (there is a lot of cross-over), however and I found it more time-consuming than cardmaking as I had to get it "just right".  I learned a lot while doing this and next time I would do a few things differently.  I still love what I created!

Stamps: Just Beachy (116879).  Card/Paper: So Saffron (108611), Pacific Point (116202), Whisper White (106549).  Ink: Cotton White StazOn (106960), So Saffron (105213). Accessories: Whisper White 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (109025), uni-ball Signo Gel Pen (105021).  Tools: Scallop Edge Punch (112091).

For these layouts I used the Just Beachy stamp set on So Saffron and Pacific Point cardstock.  I overlaid acetate stamped using Cotton White Stazon on the Pacific Point.

Before you start searching your Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalogue for this fantastic stamp set and the Cotton White Stazon, don't because you won't find it.  They are out of the Spring Mini Catalogue, which has brand-new-to-New-Zealand stamp sets and accessories.  This catalogue has some really great stuff in it that are only available between 1 August and 30 November.

To celebrate the launch of the Spring Mini Catalogue I am having cake and coffee at my house.  Come along and check out new products, bring your latest creations and share ideas over some cake and coffee.  Anyone who comes takes home a Spring Mini Catalogue for free.  Also any orders placed on the night will get free shipping.

Unique U Masculine Card

Last weekend I had a wonderful time meeting and catching up with other demonstrators in the area.  At the gathering we got to make some cards and shared some good tips and tricks.  It was great to attend a workshop instead of running one!  Anyway, Rhonda demonstrated how to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig.  Being the perfectionist I am, I use this tool a lot!  This is the lovely masculine card that we all got to make using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Unique U Masculine Card

Stamps: Life Definitions (115928), Short Order Alphabet (116412), Seaworthy (115938).  Card/Paper: Whisper White (106549), Night of Navy (106577), Kraft (106554).  Ink: Night of Navy (102977), Tempting Turquoise (100814).  Accessories: Linen Thread (104199).  Tools: Photo Corners Punch (109042), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).  Techniques: Tearing.

Speaking of masculine cards, at the August workshops we are making a masculine card with matching chocolate box.  They will be great for Father's Day or to celebrate the birthday of that special man in your life.

Masculine Cards

I have been asked by a couple of people about masculine cards lately.  It seems we all have trouble with cards for the boys and men in our lives.  Here are some tips for making masculine cards:

  • Make sure you have a couple of versatile stamp sets that are not gender specific.
  • Sponging, daubering, paper-piercing and tearing are great techniques for masculine cards.
  • Metal is always good for mens cards; brads, eyelets, clips, Hodgepodge Hardware, just avoid the flowery ones!  See the catalogue pages 148-149.
  • Colours like Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Kraft are great for guys.  Match them with some DSP stripes or small (non-flowery) patterns.  Don't be afraid of introducing colour - orange, red and yellow are great with blues and greens.
  • Stars instead of flowers, bold instead of soft, squares instead of scallops.

Here are two that I created this week for twins who have their 21st today...

Tri-Fold Shutter Card

Yes, it is birthday season for our family!  This is a tri-fold shutter card that I made for my mother-in-law's birthday.  My mother-in-law is a stamper as well, so I always try to do something special to wow her and this card surely does that.  I love the Designer Series Paper in this catalogue, the DSP I used for this card comes from the Washington Apple set.

About Me

Kristine McNickle
Hamilton, Waikato
New Zealand

I am a stay-at-home mum with three kids and a wonderfully supportive husband.  I love craft, but stamping and card making is my passion.  I also enjoy extending card-making and stamping techniques to create 3-D projects and gifts.

I was introduced to Stampin' Up! a few years ago and I quickly fell in love with their high-quality, coordinating products and, soon after, became an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  I now hold regular workshops in my home focusing on the fabulous papercraft products Stampin' Up! has to offer.

I enjoy sharing what I know with others and inspiring their stamping creativity.
