Mothers Day Card

This was the design for my Mothers Day cards this year; one for my mum and one for my mother-in-law.

Mothers Day Card

Stamps: Vintage Vogue (wood: 119191), Baroque Motifs (116340), Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel (117693).  Card/Paper: Kiwi Kiss (116204), Rich Razzleberry (119981), Kraft (106554), Whisper White (106549).  Ink: Kiwi Kiss (111835), Rich Razzleberry (115658), VersaMark (102283).  Accessories: Linen Thread (104199), Whisper White Designer Buttons from Button Latte (114333), Kiwi Kiss Designer Buttons from Button Bouquet (112092), Clear Rhinestone Brads (113144), Silver Jumbo Grommet (retired, Summer Mini).  Tools: Scallop Circle Punch (109043), Mat Pack (105826), Distressing Tool from Cutter Kit (106958), Daubers (102892), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).

When I came to make my Mothers Day cards, I was inspired by the flowers on a card that Delys made and the colours I had on my table at the time - Kiwi Kiss and Rich Razzleberry.  Love this colour combination!

Some of the details you can't see in the photo is that the Kraft behind the flowers is stamped using VersaMark and the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel, plus there is linen thread that wraps around the Kraft cardstock about four times.  Love the texture!  Also, before I scrunched and made the flowers, I stamped the petals/scallop circles.  The Rich Razzleberry flower is stamped all over with the ivy from the Vintage Vogue stamp set and the edges are daubered.

The Whisper White flower is daubered on the edges with Kiwi Kiss.

And, the Kiwi Kiss flower has the small flower from Vintage Vogue stamped in the centre and the edges are daubered.

When I started making this card, I wanted to create a vintage-look and I had a vision in my head of what I wanted it to look like.  I am really pleased with the finished card and how all the little details came together.  It was really hard to give this card away, but both mums loved the card so it was all worth it!

Meet the Medallion stamp...

Medallion Stamp

This stamp is big and beautiful.  When the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue was released, it was one of the first things on my list!  I just love it.  It is great for background stamping or for a lovely big focal stamp.  Note, the image in the mini is shown at 60% of actual size, when stamped it has a diameter of approximately 12 cm.

Here is a quick and easy card that can be made using the Manhattan Flower embossing folder and the Medallion stamp...

Manhattan Flower Embossed Card

Stamps: Medallion (119175), Vintage Vogue (wood: 119191).  Card/Paper: Sahara Sand (106552), Very Vanilla (106550).  Ink: Sahara Sand (105208).  Accessories: Very Vanilla 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon (109026). Tools: Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Folder (114517), Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (113439), Scallop Oval Punch (114889), Large Oval Punch (107305), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Sponge Daubers (102892).

This card design is really versatile.  Over the last couple of weeks, I have had a couple of lovely ladies give generously, so I used this card design to create Thank You cards for them; changing the colours and sentiment.

I didn't get around to showing these cards here last month.  These are the thank you cards that I sent out to everyone who placed an order during April.  It uses the crayon resist technique with colours to match the Tea Party DSP (Pretty In Pink, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Almost Amethyst).

Faux-Stitched Butterfly Birthday Card

Yesterday was my niece's 9th birthday.  My daughter, who is only five weeks older than her cousin, made a butterfly spiral popup card for her birthday during the school holidays.  I created this card to give to my niece from the rest of the family...

Rachael's Birthday Card

Stamps: Bitty Birthday (115762).  Card/Paper: Pretty In Pink (106568), Whisper White (106549), Kiwi Kiss DSP (112161), Apricot Appeal and Regal Rose DSP from Patterns Pack II DSP (Hostess Level 1).  Ink: Kiwi Kiss (111835).  Accessories: White uniBall Signo Gel Pen (105021), Kiwi Kiss Buttons (from Button Bouquet Designer Buttons - 112092), Pretty In Pink Buttons (retired from Summer Mini).  Tools: Butterfly Punch (116629), Scallop Circle Punch (109043), 3/4" Circle Punch (107217), Extra-Large Two-Step Bird Punch (117191), Scallop Oval Punch (114889), Large Oval Punch (107305), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).  Non-SU!: White Kitchen String.

Yep, everything is "stitched" around using a white gel pen.  The faux-stitching was inspired by the butterflies on Amanda Reddicliffe's scrapbooking layout.  Love the effect!

I am a stay-at-home mum with three kids and a wonderfully supportive husband.  I love craft, but stamping and card making is my passion.  I also enjoy extending card-making and stamping techniques to create 3-D projects and gifts.

I was introduced to Stampin' Up! a few years ago and I quickly fell in love with their high-quality, coordinating products and, soon after, became an Independent Stampin' Up!
