Petal Promenade Jewellery Pillow BoxA few weeks ago I created some pendants using the gorgeous floral designs from the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper...
Psst… I got all my fixings to create these pendants from an online company based in Auckland called Glaze. They ship internationally too! These pendants were added to snake chains and, as I was giving these as gifts, some sort of pretty packaging was required. The answer was the Kraft Pillow Boxes, which I pulled apart, added some of the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper to compliment the necklace, and die-cut a window for viewing...

Did you know that designs on the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper were produced from actual flower arrangements? They were photographed and edited to create these beautiful pages. And on the reverse side there are gorgeous marble and bokeh designs. The great news is that the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper is in this month's sale! Two simple watercolouring techniquesI love creating cards that open with a surprise, like this one. It's a Double Z-Fold card that features all the gorgeous products from the Nature's Poem Suite. Here it is closed...

Here's the same card, but with a different selection from the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper and an alternative sentiment stamped on the front...
These cards feature two watercolouring techniques that are simple to create and fun to do. The first is how to stamp this detailed tree stamp so it looks like it's been painted...
How much water you spritz onto the stamp will determine how much the ink will bleed. Try with different amounts of water to get the effect you want. The second technique is a watercolour wash background. To get this effect...
By adding a wash of water before applying the colour, the ink will pool and blend rather than adhering immediately to the Shimmery White card stock.
I finished these cards with some intricate details designed to coordinate and compliment the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper. There's some individual threads pulled from the Nature's Twine, and either a silver or copper leaf embellishment the Nature's Trinkets.
The Nature's Poem Suite is one of my favourite product selections from the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue. It has a universal appeal with a trees and leaves that are perfect for all occasions, plus it works for both feminine or masculine projects.
Nature's Poem is my muse...I love balance of the muted, almost neutral, colours in the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper against the rich pop of colour. These colours were in the forefront of my mind and the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper was the muse for these sweet thank you cards. This first one is in Mint Macaron and Cajun Craze, with a touch of silver...

This second card has the same layout, but is in Grapefruit Grove and Blackberry Bliss, with a touch of copper...

These simply-designed cards were made even easier to create when I stamped the leaves with the Stamparatus. I began with adhering the clear-mount stamp to the top plate so it will stamp in the centre of my card. I inked the stamp, stamped it off then stamped it on my card. I then lifted the plate, moved it one notch to the left and stamped again, without reinking. The first leaf (on the right) is stamped on a piece of Whisper White card, die-cut out and added to the card front with a little metallic thread wound behind it. I made around 20 of these cards and I love how evenly spaced all my leaves are and how uniform my completed set turned out.
I love my Stamparatus! It's a must-have tool for all stampers as it helps with perfectly aligning stamp images, you can stamp multiples of the same project quickly and precisely, and always get complete ink coverage. A pillow box gift just for youOne of the perks of attending the Hamilton Extravaganza is receiving a handmade gift. For my guests I used the Kraft Pillow Boxes and filled them with chocolates. These handy boxes come pre-cut, scored and printed with cute polka dots. The Kraft Pillow Boxes are lovely all on their own, or decorated with your stamping products. I used the gorgeous Nature's Poem Suite to wrap, stamp, cut and stick... taking these pillow box gifts to the next level!

I've found the Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper to be quite versatile and have used it for both feminine and masculine projects. Plus the images are not limited to a particular celebration and can be used year-round. You really can't go wrong with images from nature! BONUS... Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper is in the July Designer Series Paper Sale!
Hamilton ExtravaganzaOn the weekend we held the Hamilton Extravaganza. It was a cold day outside, but inside there was a warm, relaxing atmosphere and everyone enjoyed creative inspiration from the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue.
There were eight local Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who collaborated for the Hamilton Extravaganza, we invited guests to attend and gave each of our guests a small handmade gift. I decorated the pretty Kraft Pillow Boxes with products from the Nature's Poem Suite and filled them chocolate yumminess!
That wasn't the only gifts given away! We also had a selection of prizes that were drawn at random during the day. Here's some of the lovely product and gifts that were won...
At the Hamilton Extravaganza, we had five teams of teachers who rotated around the room, teaching their projects, so all guests went home with five completed projects plus new techniques, tips and ideas. In this first project, Jacque showed everyone how to create a double-opening card that opens from the right!
... and then the left!
This gorgeous vintage-style card, with many lovely layers and textures, was created using the gorgeous Botanical Bliss stamp set and coordinating Botanical Tags Thinlit Dies.
Another card with a fabulous opening surprise and lots of layers is this masculine card, taught by Rayleen and Irene. It features the Sea of Textures stamp set and coordinating Under the Sea Framelits Dies, plus the fabulous Tranquil Tide Designer Series Paper...
This is a Dutch-Fold Card and it opens like this...
Kay and Ruth used the very popular Varied Vases stamp set with the coordinating Vases Builder Punch to create this masterpiece...
I love how this Window Box Card frames the soft, watercoloured flowers in vases.
Bev and Andrea shared how to create a card that is quite popular right now - the Impossible Card, featuring the equally popular Rooted in Nature stamp set, coordinating Nature's Roots Framelits Dies, and the lovely Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper...
And lastly, I showed everyone how to create a pretty gift box. This is a play on a bag-in-a-box design, altered to look like a purse and is great for larger presents or a gift-set of 3" x 3" note cards...
This purse gift bag focused on the Petal Promenade Suite, and was finished with a tag stamped and die-cut using the Beautiful Promenade Bundle.
The beauty of these bags comes from the amazing Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper, which has photographed florals on one side and marble or bokeh effects on the reverse (inside the bag). Here's all the different designs...
