Abstract Impressions Pop-Out Butterfly CardAt last month's workshops we created this butterfly sympathy card that features the gorgeous Abstract Impressions stamp set and coordinating Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies, and includes some fabulous new colours: Soft Sea Foam, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, and Call Me Clover...
Bundles: Abstract Impressions Stamp Set + Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies (photopolymer: 148348). Ink: Highland Heather (147103), Gorgeous Grape (147099). Card/Paper: Soft Sea Foam (147012), Call Me Clover (146992), Gorgeous Grape (147011), Whisper White (106549), White Vellum (106584). Accessories: Pearls Basic Jewels (144219), Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (141897). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Magnetic Platform (130658), Classic Label Punch (141491), Leaf Punch (144667), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (144108), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
I wanted the pretty butterfly to be the focus of this card, so the die-cut flowers are in Soft Sea Foam card stock and are adhered to a card base of the same colour. Using this tone-on-tone effect with die-cuts is a great way to add texture to your projects. To make the butterfly pop and shine, I gave the Whisper White die-cut a liberal coating of shimmery Clear Wink of Stella.
This is no ordinary card, it holds a surprise for the person who receives it. Pull on the card front to open the card...
... and the butterfly pulls through the card front and "magically" appears on the inside. This butterfly pop-out card is quite a simple design, but it sure does give a lot of wow-factor!
A Delicately Detailed Thank YouOne of the most delicate products suites in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue is the Delightfully Detailed Suite on pages 38-39. I especially love the words in the Detailed With Love stamp set, the versatility of the Detailed Trio Punch, and the intricate Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. Here's a simple card that uses these products and shows off the beauty of the laser-cut designs...
Bundles: Detailed With Love Stamp Set + Detailed Trio Punch (wood: 146603, clear: 146606). Ink: Blackberry Bliss (147092). Card/Paper: Grapefruit Grove (146995), Blackberry Bliss (133682), Very Vanilla (106550), Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper (146907). Accessories: Faceted Dots (146910). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Subtle 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (143706), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
As you can see from the product image above, there is one sheet in the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper that has panels and borders that can be cut out for adding to the front of a project. There is also a gorgeous 12" x 12" (30.5 cm x 30.5) laser-cut garden of flowers! Use this as a whole sheet, or trim out the flowers and stems you want, like this one...
Here's a second card with the same layout, but with another flower design, trimmed from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper...
Imagine creating a few of these cards, all with different flowers! That would make a lovely gift set.
Hello! Did you miss me?We are back from an amazing trip to Canada and Alaska. We had incredible experiences traveling from Calgary, through Canada's gorgeous national parks, and then onto the Rocky Mountaineer Train to Vancouver. We then boarded the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas, cruising from Seattle, through the Alaska Inside Passage, stopping in ports in Alaska and Canada. This beautiful cruise was the Incentive Trip I earned last year and all costs were courtesy of Stampin' Up! - we were so spoilt! You can see some of what we got up to on the Creative Stamping Facebook Page.
While we were away, we had some amazing family and friends who helped us out, looking after our kids and cat. As a token of our appreciation, I created a small gift using the sweet Copper Tea Tins, filled them with chocolate, and dressed them up with the gorgeous Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper...
Bundles: Rooted In Nature Stamp Set + Nature's Roots Framelits Dies (wood: 148352, clear: 146353). Ink: Grapefruit Grove (147142), Blackberry Bliss (147092), Whisper White (147277). Card/Paper: Whisper White (106549), White Vellum (106584), Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper (146338). Accessories: Copper Tea Tins (147034), Nature's Twine (146342), Copper Metallic Thread (141696), White Stampin' Emboss Powder (109132). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Magnetic Platform (130658), Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (145372), Heat Tool (129056), Embossing Buddy (103083), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
I also used the Rooted in Nature stamp set and coordinating Nature's Roots Framelits Dies to add some pretty elements on the front of the Copper Tea Tin. The white embossed "thank you" was snipped out of a bigger stamp, which says, "to thank you for all you do".
Today is the last day of the Designer Series Paper Sale - that's when you buy three packages of select Designer Series Paper and get one FREE! The gorgeous Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper is one of those in the July promotion. Order yours today!
An Animal Outing WelcomeYou might think that this card, featuring the cute Animal Outing stamp set, is to welcome a new baby, and you could be right! However, this sweet card was actually created to recently welcome a new member into our team of demonstrators...

Before I began, I white embossed this gorgeous rhino image, and then I liberally brushed water over the Shimmery White card stock, before applying a wash of Mint Macaron ink.

Petal Promenade ThanksHere's the Petal Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper again... I really love this paper! This time it's the main act on this pretty thank you card.
Stamps: Itty Bitty Greetings (wood: 146664, clear: 146667). Ink: Whisper White (101780). Card/Paper: Smoky Slate (131291), Basic Gray (121689), Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper (146913), Vellum (106584). Accessories: Rose Metallic Thread (146915), White Stampin' Emboss Powder (109132). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Magnetic Platform (130658), Stitched Labels Framelits Dies (146828), Beautiful Layers Thinlits Dies (photopolymer: 148389), Heat Tool (129056), Embossing Buddy (103083), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).For this card I let the photographed imagery on the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper do all the talking. Two of the sheets in this pack have trimmable elements, and this is the 3" x 3" square that I've cut out and mounted on a card front. So that my sentiment didn't detract from the pretty designer paper, I used the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set to add a small word of gratitude.
Don't forget that the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper is in the July paper sale, which finishes next week! |
