Peaceful Noel Gift BagsOne of my favourite product suites in the Holiday Catalogue is the Joyous Noel Suite. I was drawn to the pretty foliage in the Peaceful Noel stamp set, which really lends itself to stamping Christmas garlands and wreaths, but could be used all year round. I also love the vintage feel of the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Paper, but with a fresh twist of rich, intense colour and hints of copper.
Bundles: Peaceful Noel Stamp Set + Sprig Punch (photopolymer: 149958). Ink: Merry Merlot (147112), Tranquil Tide (147146), Soft Suede (147115), Sahara Sand (147117), VersaMark (102283). Card/Paper: Whisper White (106549), Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper (147816), Joyous Noel 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper (147817). Accessories: Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Reversible Ribbon (147818), Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder (141636). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Magnetic Platform (130658), Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (145372), Gift Bag Punch Board (135862), Embossing Buddy (103083), Heat Tool (129056), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).These gift boxes were easily created using the Gift Bag Punch Board and the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Paper, then secured with the gorgeous Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Reversible Ribbon. This elegant ribbon is fabulous! It's Merry Merlot with a copper sheen on one side, and copper with a Merry Merlot sheen on the other - ingenious!
The copper foil accents in this designer paper pairs so well with Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon, and the bags turned out so lovely that there wasn't much I needed to do to complete these gifts... just a pretty tag adhered to the front stamped in Merry Merlot, Tranquil Tide, Soft Suede, and Sahara Sand, and finished with a touch of bling from the punched sprig of Tranquil Tide Glimmer Paper.
These gift bags were filled with Ferrero Rocher Chocolates and given "with gratitude" to some lovely hostesses.
Santa's Workshop Christmas CardsOn page 21 of the Holiday Catalogue is the Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card Pack. In this pack are 50 printed cards that are 3" x 4" and 4" x 6", sized perfectly to fit the Memories & More Photo Pocket Pages and memory keeping product range. These cards are also sized perfectly to fit the pre-cut card bases in the Santa's Workshop Memories & More Cards & Envelopes too! Here's the large note card from the Santa's Workshop Memories & More Cards & Envelopes...
Look no stamping! That's right, this card (and those to follow) have no stamping on them. All I did was select this fun, glittery 4" x 6" card from the Memories & More Card Pack and adhere it to a Poppy Parade card base. The words are printed on a 3" x 4" Memories & More card, which I added to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. Here's some more, this time on small note cards...
Both of these cards were created using the 3" x 4" Memories & More cards for the background, then the words trimmed from other cards and popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I've also stepped them up with some Garden Green Baker's Twine on one, and glittery stickers (from the Memories & More Card Pack) and some enamel shapes to the other.
Here's a couple more of the smaller note cards, also embellished with stickers from the Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card Pack, Garden Green Baker's Twine and Santa's Workshop Enamel Shapes...
Did you know that these sweet Christmas cards fit perfectly in one of the Santa Bags? They would make a lovely gift...
You will have seen the lovely glitter-striped card that I shared first. There are six 4" x 6" cards in the Santa's Workshop Memories & More Card Pack that are glittered, and they make fabulous cards! Here's another...

Bokeh TechniqueHere's another card that uses the Dandelion Wishes stamp set and the same gorgeous colours as the monochromatic, whimsical thank you cards. This time I used Coastal Cabana and Highland Heather ink to create a lovely bokeh background and stamped the dandelion images as a silhouette over the top. Bokeh, also known as "Boke", is a photography term that describes the way the camera lens renders out-of-focus points of light, leaving a visually appealing image with soft background highlights.
Stamps: Dandelion Wishes (wood: 146744, clear: 146747). Ink: Coastal Cabana (147097), Highland Heather (147103), Whisper White (147277), Jet Black StazOn (101406). Card/Paper: Whisper White Thick (144238), Whisper White (106549), Silver Foil (132178), Shimmery White (121717), Window Sheet (142314). Accessories: Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon (147897). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Corrugated 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (148026), 3/4" Circle Punch (119873), 1" Circle Punch (119868), 1-1/4" Circle Punch (119861), Aqua Painter (103954), Stamping Sponges (141337), Mini Glue Dots (103683)Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
To create this lovely, soft background using the Bokeh Technique I started with a piece of Shimmery White card stock...
The bokeh effect really is stunning with the Dandelion Wishes stamp set! And check out the lovely little finishing touches... the fabulous corrugated embossing on the card base and the sparkly Black Organdy Ribbon bow. I love these two products from the Holiday Catalogue as they can be used all year round!
Many ThanksIf you're anything like me, whenever a new Stampin' Up! catalogue comes out you make a wish list that is longer than your arm! When the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue was released back in June, the Dandelion Wishes stamp set was on the top of the list. It is so elegant and whimsical, and versatile for many occasions. I used the Dandelion Wishes stamp set to create these monochromatic thank you cards...
Stamps: Dandelion Wishes (wood: 146744, clear: 146747), Itty Bitty Greetings (wood: 146664, clear: 146667). Ink: Coastal Cabana (147097), Highland Heather (147103). Card/Paper: Coastal Cabana (131302), Highland Heather (147010), Shimmery White (121717), Whisper White (106549). Accessories: Frost White Shimmer Paint (147046), Metallics Sequin Assortment (144214), White Stampin' Emboss Powder (109132). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Subtle 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (143706), Heat Tool (129056), Embossing Buddy (103083), Aqua Painter (103954), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (144108), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
One of my favourite things to do when creating is a watercolour wash. This can be done in a controlled way to create lovely backgrounds like my Nature's Poem card, or more haphazard, letting the ink spread and bleed where ever it wants to go, which is what I did to create these thank you cards. I started with a piece of Shimmery White card stock and white embossed the gorgeous dandelion image from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set. Afterwards, I laid down a generous layer of water over the entire piece of card stock with an Aqua Painter, then loaded up that Aqua Painter with ink and gave a swirly-wash from the centre of the dandelion, outwards, and then left the ink to do it's thing!
Shimmery White card stock is great for this wash technique as it is robust and able to endure all that water and ink. It also gives the finished project a lovely shine. Speaking of shine... to add extra to these thank you cards, I loaded a paint brush with Frost White Shimmer Paint (from the new Holiday Catalogue) and splattered the shimmer across the card to catch the light. There's also some yummy iridescent sequins scattered across the card too!
And while we're on the subject of thanks... I'm so excited to let you know that last week I earned the 2019 Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip - A Greek Isles Cruise in July next year!
I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me in any way... my amazing husband and kids, family and friends, loyal customers, and a fabulous team of demonstrators. I could not have achieved this on my own and I am so grateful for all your encouragement and support.
Sweet Takeout TreatsIn New Zealand, we generally don't celebrate the traditional US holidays of Halloween or Thanksgiving. However, I challenge you to take a look at these sections in the new Holiday Catalogue as there are some awesome products in there that can be used for other holidays and all year-round. Take the sweet Takeout Thinlits Dies and coordinating Takeout Treats stamp set, which would make fabulous favours for weddings or for dressing your Christmas table. I created this pretty set of treat boxes with matching note cards, inspired by Jacque Williams' work, and are perfect for filling and giving as thank you gifts...
Bundles: Takeout Treats Stamp Set + Takeout Thinlits Dies (wood: 149989, clear: 149990). Ink: Petal Pink (147100), Blackberry Bliss (147092), Jet Black StazOn (101406). Card/Paper: Petal Pink (147009), Blackberry Bliss (133682), Whisper White Thick (144238), Whisper White (106549), Window Sheet (142314). Accessories: Frost White Shimmer Paint (147046), Silver & Petal Pink Baker's Twine (146288), Whisper White 3" x 3" Envelopes (145829). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Magnetic Platform (130658), Stampin' Spritzer (126185), Mini Glue Dots (1036836). Other: Isopropyl Alcohol.
These treat boxes are simple to create and lovely to give! If you take a closer look at these, you will see that the Petal Pink card stock has a beautiful pearlized lustre. This is a mixture of Isopropyl Alcohol (70%), water (30%), and a few drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint, poured into a Stampin' Spritzer and applied to the card stock.
I love the many uses and lovely effects that you can get from Shimmer Paint!
