Yesterday was the Hamilton Extravaganza and it was a wonderful day of socialising, stamping and creating. What I am sharing here is just a snippet of the day; to give you a taste.
The day starts quite early for the demonstrators as we set up our displays, arrange tables and prepare for teaching our projects. When we lay out the tables for our guests, we put a name tag or small gift for each person. I very quickly decorated a couple of jars to put on the table for pens and pencils. And for my guests I made some more little boxes using the Candy Wrapper die and the Everyday Enchantment DSP...
Each box was filled with Hershey's chocolates - yum! I had a couple of people ask how I curled the 1/8" Organdy Ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration Ribbon & Brad Pack... I curled it by running the blade of my scissors along the ribbon, like you do for the plasticy curling ribbon. Just be gentle so you don't tear it.
Another part of the day were the door prizes, which were drawn throughout the event. All the demonstrators contribute a gift to give as a prize, and this was mine...
Stamps: French Foliage (wood: 123557, clear: 121166), Tiny Tags (wood: 123557, clear: 121166). Card/Paper: Cajun Craze (121683), Baja Breeze (116207), Confetti White (106557). Ink: Cajun Craze (119671), Baja Breeze (111833), Old Olive (102277), Soft Suede (115657), Crumb Cake (121030). Accessories: Linen Thread (104199). Tools: 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch (118874), 1-3/4" Circle Punch (119850), Jewelry Tag Punch (117190), 1/16" Circle Handheld Punch (101227), Mat Pack (105826), Paper Piercing Tool (116631), Sponge Daubers (102892), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
I made this around the same time as the French Foliage Square Springy Card and themed it to match.
Here's a selection of some of the other door prizes given out on the day...
Sorry, not a great photo, but you get the idea - stamps, inks, created gifts...
And then there were the projects we created.
Vivienne and I taught a masculine popup voucher card using The Open Sea stamp set and Nautical Expedition products from page 18-19 of the Summer Mini...
This photo is the one I took for the instruction sheet that was given out. I was going to take another one for here but my card has now got shiny shimmer paint finger prints on it from demonstrating yesterday! Here's what the inside of the card looks like...
Jacque and Dianne showed how you can extend the Candy Wrapper die so you can fit a snack-size chocolate bar inside (the ones you try to avoid buying as you pay for your groceries!)...
... and decorated it using the You Are Loved stamp set from page 12 of the Summer Mini and the Fresh Vintage stamp set and Everyday Enchantment DSP from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.
Bev and Rayleen demonstrated a treat card, where the gift-box is a part of the card! They used the Spiced Paisley stamp set and Spice Cake products from page 10-11 of the Summer Mini...
This one was filled with tealight candles, but you can also fill them with yummy treats!
Irene and Shona wowed us with the a lovely color combination and two-step stamping to create this "flip-flop" card for Mother's Day...
And inside...
Rhonda and Janice showed everyone how to make this very pretty butterfly card (designed by Vanessa Webb) using the Elementary Elegance Sale-A-Bration stamp set and lots of sponging, spritzing and layers...
The day had so much variety and loads of ideas to take home to inspire your own creations. Everyone I spoke to had a great time and I really enjoyed it too!
