Did you know that a group of dragonflies are called a "cluster" or "flight"? In addition to the beautiful big die-cut dragonfly, the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits also has a chain of five connected, smaller dragonflies that are really pretty and look like a cluster of dragonflies hovering together...
Bundles: Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set + Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies (photopolymer: 144728). Ink: Early Espresso (126974), Sahara Sand (126976), Sweet Sugarplum (141395). Card/Paper: Sahara Sand (121695), Sweet Sugarplum (141423), Blushing Bride (131287), Very Vanilla (106550), Falling in Love Designer Series Paper (142788). Accessories: Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Banner Triple Punch (138292), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
For this card, I've die-cut the corner of the Very Vanilla card front using the flight-of-dragonflies thinlit and then inserted a piece of gorgeous Falling in Love Designer Series Paper underneath. The single Blushing Bride dragonfly is the same die, but I have trimmed a complete one from the bottom of the chain.
Just look at that... if you purchase the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle and Falling in Love Designer Series Paper, it adds up to $121.75 (excluding shipping), which means you can choose a FREE Sale-A-Bration product! YAY!
On Friday I held my annual Occasions Catalogue Launch Party, which included hands-on exploration of the new 2017 Occasions Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration products, participating in games, winning prizes and more! Here's a look at the product display from the day...
A party is not a party unless it has gifts! So during the Launch Party I gave away these spot prizes, which included the Party Animal Designer Series Paper and Party Animal Embellishments with a generous length of Emerald Envy 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon wrapped around it. You can see all these fun products on page 5 of the Occasions Catalogue.
Everyone who attended the Occasions Catalogue Launch Party also had multiple chances to put their name into a prize draw, which was drawn at the end of the event. The winners received the gorgeous Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper and Special Reason stamp set, with two lengths of the Succulent Garden 3/8" Ribbon (Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White). These were gratefully received...
There were two projects for everyone to create and enjoy having hands-on experience with some new products. This first project is a fun birthday tag that folds like a small notecard. This was made using the Party Animal Product Suite...

Dragonflies are so popular and it's no wonder when you have a gorgeous, intricate die-set like the new Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. Here's a friendship card I made that features the a white-silhouette dragonfly over a bright splash of colour...
Bundles: Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set + Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies (photopolymer: 144728). Ink: Rich Razzleberry (126950), Melon Mambo (126948), Tangerine Tango (126946), Daffodil Delight (126944), Tuxedo Black Memento (132708). Card/Paper: Shimmery White (121717), Watercolor Paper (122959). Accessories: Silver Metallic Thread (138402), Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Precision Base Plate (139684), Aqua Painter (103954), Stampin' Spritzer (126185), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
To create the gorgeous background for my card, I started by squeezing the closed Rich Razzleberry stamp pad so that ink pooled in the lid. Then I used an Aqua Painter, loaded with a generous amount of ink, to wash a stripe of colour onto Watercolor Paper. I repeated this with Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Daffodil Delight ink (all from the Brights collection). I then spritzed the ink with water and let it pool and run over the Watercolor Paper until I was happy with the result. At this stage you could let the card air dry or dry it quickly with a Heat Tool. To finish the front of the card, I used the largest detailed dragonfly die for the front of this card, die-cut in pretty, Shimmery White card stock and backed with a nest of Silver Metallic Thread.
This simple friendship card was inspired by a sample I saw at our OnStage event in Brisbane last year. OnStage is a Stampin' Up! event that's run every 6-months where demonstrators get together, receive practical business training and share wonderful, creative ideas. It's so much fun and really inspiring. The next OnStage is in Auckland in April this year and there's a lot of excitement right now as registration opened yesterday!
If you would like to know more about joining Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator and attend one of these fabulous events, then contact me to get a no-obligation pack, which gives you more information about me, my team, the resources that offer and what being a demonstrator is all about.
It's finally here! Today sees the release of the Stampin' Up! 2017 Occasions Catalogue., and it's full of gorgeous new products and awe-inspiring project ideas. But wait, there's more. Sale-A-Bration starts today too!
Sale-A-Bration is an annual event with FREE products! You can enjoy Sale-A-Bration in three ways...
So, to Sale-A-Brate the new Occasions Catalogue launch and Sale-A-Bration, I am sharing this layered birthday card that I created with the gorgeous new Carousel Birthday stamp set, Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper and new Lace Doilies...
Stamps: Carousel Birthday (wood: 142829, clear: 142832). Ink: Early Espresso (126974). Card/Paper: Very Vanilla (106550), Early Espresso (121686), Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack (142744). Accessories: Lace Doilies (142793), Peekaboo Peach 3/8" Ruched Ribbon (141427), Bermuda Bay 1/8" Stitched Ribbon (140569), Gold Metallic Thread (138401). Tools: Paper Snips (103579), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
This card was inspired by Kimberly Van Diepen's Christmas card. What I love most about this card layout is all those layers and textures that the ribbons and trimmings add. And that stamped carousel horse just begs to be cut out. But beware - it's rather time-consuming and tricky so make sure you have a really good pair of Paper Snips.
So how can you get the benefits of Sale-A-Bration from now until the end of March? Well, if you love this card and would like to create it yourself, then by ordering the Carousel Birthday wood-mount stamp set, Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack, the Lace Doilies and the ribbons to recreate this card, you would be eligible for a FREE Sale-A-Bration product. That's right, you get to choose any one of the products from the Sale-A-Bration brochure for FREE!
Happy New Year! Wishing you and your family safe travels and I hope you are enjoying some relaxing time at your favourite holiday spot.
The celebrations started early for us as yesterday was my Nana's birthday and I cherish everyone one she celebrates. This year I used the fabulous Carousel Birthday stamp set to create a fun birthday card that has a stamped Ferris Wheel on the front. But this is no ordinary Ferris Wheel, instead of passenger cars, it has cute cupcakes. So, to accentuate this wonderful oddity, I stamped the wheel in a neutral colour and spotlighted one of the cupcakes...
Stamps: Carousel Birthday (wood: 142829, clear: 142832). Ink: Sahara Sand (126976), Tangerine Tango (126946), Bermuda Bay (131171), Early Espresso (126974). Card/Paper: Sahara Sand (121695), Peekaboo Peach (141422), Chocolate Chip (108599), Very Vanilla (106550), Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack (142744). Accessories: Sprinkles Embellishments (142741), Bermuda Bay Thick Baker's Twine (138413). Tools: Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine (143263), Magnetic Platform (130658), Up & Away Thinlits Dies (142748), Window Box Thinlits Dies (142762), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755), Foam Adhesive Strips (141825), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430).
I have already shared that the Carousel Birthday stamp set is one of my favourites from the new Occasions Catalogue. However, there are three other new products I want to share with you that I love using... the first is the Up & Away Thinlits Dies. This die set comes in a bundle with the Lift Me Up stamp set, which is a lovely set that is all about hot air balloons. But, the Up & Away Thinlits Dies also coordinate with the Carousel Birthday stamp set too! The die for the balloon basket also die-cuts the cupcake case, plus the die for the cloud also matches the cupcake frosting. Awesome coordination!
The second product I wanted to highlight to you is another set of dies. The Window Box Thinlits Dies includes a really funky piece that die-cuts the ends of the banner on the front of my card. It even scores the lines to make it pop off the page!
And lastly, I wanted to point out the tiny Peekaboo Peach sequins on the cupcake frosting. These come in the new Sprinkles Embellishments pack that includes so many different sequins and spheres in a variety of sizes and a rainbow of colours. I can't wait for you to see these, which you can when you get your copy of the new Occasions Catalogue from me.
